So there are reports that Michael Flynn, a retired three star general and a former head of Defense Intelligence Agency, might be Trump’s nominee.
This is not a shocker: Flynn has been linked to Trump for months already, dating all the way back to last Winter (although I cannot seem to find news articles claiming this linkage earlier than February.) This would make for an interesting combination: Trump’s foreign policy position, of not antagonizing major powers, being tough on terrorists, but without getting involved in entangling long term commitments overseas, has been described as largely a reflection of Flynn’s worldview as well. Of course, while a critic of the Obama administration (and a much more vociferous one of Hillary Clinton), Flynn is also a Democrat. This could make for a fascinating pick.
